TOTALLY ILLEGAL
When I moved to Ohio from Minnesota, one of the hardest things I had to do was say goodbye to Lori Dokken and all the people who helped me get into music. In Ohio, I have to use backup tracks because I only do the vocals and I don't play any musical instruments. When I found Lori on Youtube, I wanted to be singing with her again. I then got an idea, I was going to record a live concert with Lori from the neighborhood of make believe. I just had to find Mr. Roger's trolley to get me to Make Believe. Once I did, I got busy.
I inserted myself into one of Lori's live albums. I was talking to my friend Caroline Musselwrite about it because I wanted everyone to know it was an illegal album, totally illegal. Caroline suggested I name it "Totally illegal", which I did. I was going to delete it after I heard from Lori because after all, it was totally illegal. Caroline suggested that I name the album "Totally Illegal, and so I did. That way if Lori ever told me to take it down and people wanted to know why it was deleted, it's because it really was totally illegal. It's been about 20 years and I never did hear from Lori. If I ever do, I deeply hope she'll see the humor and not be mad. I mess her!
I think this album is what "Jam" should have been. It's just so hard for me not to do Gospel. To a point, even this album is Gospel. However, over the years I have done songs such as "Send In The Clowns", which would better fit this kind of album. I just don't feel like changing it because it's illegal anyway. I just miss those people a lot!
