Why do we use the word "Disabled" when there is not one disabled person on Earth?  We are all born "Differently Abled"?  We all do similar things, but we do them in different ways.  In baseball, you have left and right handed batters.  bowling is the same way.  It doesn't matter what foot you kick a football with.  I could go on and on about all the things we do differently and we think nothing of it.  But what if a person bats or bowls with their left hand because they have no right hand or even arm?  What if someone pants with their mouth because they have no use of their hands?  People can change a diaper while sitting in a chair on wheels.  Yet it seems impossible to do it from a wheelchair.  And you can work all day on a computer from a chair on wheels, yet it's extra amazing if some does it from a wheelchair.

We in the disabled community don't understand the difference.  If a part of our body doesn't work or is missing, we adapt, often without knowing it.  The  way we go through life is normal to us because we don't know anything else.  It's true, we can't do things the same way you do.  But, can you do things the same way we do?  Which one of us is disabled?  Or, are we just differently abled?

The documents and movies in this section are what I call the differently abled.  If you watch everything, you will learn where we came from, how we slowly got our rights, and how we live today.  We have adapted to the world, but in some ways, the world hasn't adapted to us.  As long as the disability comes before the person, we have a long way to go.
